Topic: Overview of Economic Development and Tourism in Texas and how it relates to the Community.
Larry McManus manages the Community Relations Division within the Governor’s Economic Development and Tourism Business Assistance Office. With 24 years of economic development service to the State of Texas, McManus has built a highly regarded reputation with communities and regional economic development allies throughout the State of Texas by assisting economic development partners and companies in the business expansion process.
Prior to his Community Relations role, McManus oversaw a Domestic Expansion and Recruitment team that was instrumental in assisting in the announcement of more than 140,000 jobs and a capital investment in excess of approximately $63 billion between January 2005 and August 2015. Previous to his role with the State of Texas, McManus spent nearly five years with NationsBank (now Bank of America).
McManus holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at El Paso and is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. McManus is a member of the Texas Economic Development Council and serves on the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service Economic Development Program Advisory Board.
