In 1986 a small group of area business and civic leaders got together with the idea of working together to promote the area and businesses in Western Travis County. They created the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce. And 28 years later, together with our committed members, the community and local businesses continue to grow and thrive.

What is Speed Networking?
When business people attend networking events, they tend to gravitate towards people they know, and don't always meet new individuals or business contacts.
In a dedicated speed networking event, people are given a structured environment in which they can talk to people they wouldn't otherwise have come into contact with, and can quickly decide whether there is a mutual interest without the need for unnecessarily long and sometimes awkward conversations.
It is a new and fresh way to build your business contacts in a time efficient manner! Being able to articulate your business, company, profession, product or services in a few seconds gives you a clear advantage over your competition. Speed networking allows professionals to practice and perfect succinctly articulating their business objectives. As people continue to repeat their speech and connect with others, they are also able to use the right words to make the right first impression which leads to more of the right referrals.
So you can make the most of your time at our events, we have prepared a few ideas to help you get your pitch just right. It’s not difficult, all you have to do is give a little thought to each of these aspects.
- Know your business, and know it well;
- Be able to describe what you do and who you do it for in a few clear sentences; and
- Know what you want and need from networking and what you have to offer.
Community Impact Newspaper is Texas' fastest-growing news organization and the most widely distributed news source for relevant and useful information at the community level. Since its launch in 2005, Community Impact Newspaper has restructured an antiquated model—the community newspaper—and turned it into an essential tool by providing readers with useful, informative news. Owners John and Jennifer Garrett launched the first edition of Community Impact Newspaper with three full-time employees covering Round Rock and Pflugerville. The company now has more than 100 employees with coverage in more than 25 cities and communities with 20 hyperlocal newspapers in Texas. With a total mailed circulation now over a million, more residents receive a Community Impact Newspaper than any other publication in Texas.
